Murray to return at Cincy
The Western and Southern Open announced they have given a main draw wild card to Andy Murray.
Murray won the event near Mason, Ohio in 2008 and 2011, and was finalist in 2016 after winning Olympic gold in Brazil.
Murray is set to play his first singles event since surgery to repair his hip after his tearful “farewell” at the Australian Open in Melbourne.
The WS Open, which began in 1899, has also awarded main draw wild cards to Maria Sharapova, Sam Querrey, Reilly Opelka, Juan Londero, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Alison Riske, Bernarda Pera and local rising star Caty McNally. Jack Sock, Kristie Ahn and Coco Vandeweghe have received wild cards for qualifiers.
