Tsitsipas, 19, reaches Barcelona final

Stefanos Tsitsipas, age 19, has reached the final of the Barcelona Open, beating Diego Schwartzman, Albert Ramos Vinolas, Dominic Thiem and Pablo Carreno.

It’s a stunning rise for the Greek teenager. Before Monte Carlo, he had never won a main draw tour level match on clay. He is the first player from Greece to make a tour final since 1973. He was born on August 12, 1998, the same birthday as another player of Greek ancestry — Pete Sampras.
